Mini Golf at Calvert Library! (press release)

Friends of Calvert Library are raising the fun in fundraising this year with their inaugural Friends of Calvert Library Mini Golf!  After the library officially closes on Friday, September 23, teen volunteers will help set up the golf course, and then at 7pm, the doors will open for a great teen night out.  The price is $10 per person and includes pizza, popcorn, soda, live band and photo booth!  The musicians are Owen Edwards, Jordana Nye, Wyatt Garrett and Jonay Boylan, all students of Garrett Music Academy. On Saturday, the course will be open for $5/person (ages 6 and under free) from 11am to 4pm.  There will also be face painting and other fun activities at the library so don’t plan that day for quiet study! Saturday evening beginning at 6:30pm, there will be an adult event complete with hors d’oeurves, silent auction, photo booth and a 19^th hole (cash bar).  Those tickets are $40/person and include your first drink. If you want to be assured of a chance to play a round, get your tickets early at any Calvert Library location or online (for a small processing fee) at http://bit.ly/CalvertMiniGolf. 

Quite a few individuals and businesses in the community have jumped into this exciting new fundraiser.  Sponsors include Community Bank of the Chesapeake; Recorded Books; Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa; Comcast; John A. Hofmann, Civil Engineer; Keep it Simple Computing; Midwest Tape-Hoopla; Southern Solutions; both towns of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach; Martha Grahame; Winegardner Auto Group and even the Calvert Library Foundation wanted to be sure to get their name on a hole.  Keep an eye out for the county’s Department of Technology Services hole which promises to be pretty creative!  There are still a few opportunities for sponsors.
