It is always great fun to celebrate Women’s History month with Calvert Library.  This year, Calvert Library Prince Frederick is hosting award-winning actress Mary Ann Jung performing a living history as Good Queen Bess.  This interactive adventure will be on Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m.  Jung’s degree is in British Elizabethan History and she says that Queen Bess is “considered by most to be England’s greatest queen.”

Queen Elizabeth Tudor presided over England's Golden Age of exploration and the arts in the 1500's. So what was life really like in the Renaissance? Her Majesty will astonish the audience with surprising facts about the food, clothes, manners, and pastimes of her realm. If playing football is a crime and roasted peacock is for supper you know Her Majesty is visiting. She even teaches her favorite dance, the galliard.  Be prepared for an educational and entertaining evening.  For more information, call Robyn Truslow at 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862.
