Have you noticed that Calvert Library has regular workshops and events for your enrichment and lifelong learning pleasure?  The library goings-on for just a week include dozens of opportunities.  A few of the upcoming ones include a Saving With Coupons workshop on Wednesday, October 24; Halloween Open Mic on Thursday, October 25; a Wii Gaming Tournament on Saturday, October 27;  a presentation of the Statewide Ballot Questions with the League of Women Voters on Monday, October 29; a popular movie showing based on Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins on Tuesday, October 30; and a Retire Gracefully: Financial Planning workshop on Thursday, November 1 featuring Lyn Striegel.

The coupon workshop will be run by local coupon celebrity Kimberly Pepper-Hoctor, “The Girl Who Loves Coupons.”  Get ready to unleash a new set of money-saving tools to turn your shopping woes around.   Kimberly is a 30-year coupon veteran who has been featured in The Washington Post, The Enterprise, County Times, Calvert Gazette, SMNewsNet, FM News New York, WHUR-AM, and many other international news, radio and TV programs for her couponing skills and classes.  A military spouse who has taught hundreds of military and civilian families for the past seven years, it was Kimberly's community work that gained her recognition in 2009 as one of 10 top military spouses by The Flagship Newspaper and WVEC-TV.

Kimberly now spends time teaching others throughout Maryland & DC how to coupon and runs a local Facebook forum called thegirllovescoupons.  Come learn her coupon clipping secrets and bring some fun to your finances!  The workshop begins at 7:00pm at Calvert Library Prince Frederick.

Then the next night is a great opportunity to howl at the Halloween Open Mic.  There are still a few slots left for performers and plenty of space for those who want to enjoy the show which begins at 7pm.  Costumes are welcome!  Call the Calvert Library Prince Frederick at 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862 or take a look at the library website, calvert.lib.md.us, for details on other great upcoming events.
