On Wednesday, June 4, 2014, join Calvert Library Prince Frederick for a viewing of an award-winning film based on the book A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea by Richard Phillips with Stephan Talty. The film chronicles the true life 2009 hijacking of the U.S. cargo ship Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates and features Tom Hanks as Captain Phillips. Lights go down at 6:00 pm and the film will be followed by a short discussion ending by 8:30pm. Light refreshments and coffee will be served.
