Are you looking for a low-key but special night out?  Do you love your library?  Friends of Calvert Library is hosting the annual Books & Bubbly party on Friday, January 18, 7-9pm at Calvert Library Prince Frederick.  There will be live entertainment in the form of author Christine Trent and music by the All Saints House Band.

Ms. Trent will be giving participants a sneak peak of her book that will be coming out February 26, Lady of Ashes, about a female Victorian undertaker being pursued by a crazed killer.  Christine Trent has a series of books published by Kensington Books all based on strong female characters in unusual professions.  Her previous three books have been set in the Regency period so her new book is a departure from the time period but not from the excellent readability.

All Saints House Band will provide music to dance to and there will be plenty of opportunity to mingle with other library supporters.  Tickets are only $35 (this is a friend-raiser rather than a fund-raiser) and can be purchased at any Calvert Library location.

Friends of Calvert Library provide financial support to many of the programs the library offers and to enable the library to offer services and products beyond the reach of tax dollars.  Recently, they have made generous donations to support the renovation of the building which is to be the interim Southern Branch.  President Martha Grahame likes to say that Friends “provide the cream for the coffee that is the library.”  For more information call 410- 535-0291 or 301-855-1862.
