On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, join Calvert Library Prince Frederick for an exclusive screening of the acclaimed film based on Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel Gone Girl. On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary.  Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion.  Husband-of-the-year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.  With an all-star cast of Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike this film directed by David Fincher is a fast-paced, devilishly dark, and ingeniously plotted thriller. Lights go down at 6:00 pm and the film will be followed by a short discussion ending by 8:30pm.  Light refreshments and coffee will be served.  For more information call Robyn Truslow at (410) 535-0291 or (301) 855-1862.
