On Wednesday, September 4, 2013, join Calvert Library Prince Frederick for an Oscar-award winning movie about the events that unfurled for a small group of embassy employees after militants seized control of the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution.  CIA agent Tony Mendez creates a fake Hollywood film production called Argo in order to rescue a group of American diplomats who have sought refuge at the home of a Canadian ambassador. This film was inspired by actual events and is based on the book Master of Disguise by Tony Mendez and “The Great Escape” a Wired magazine article by Joshuah Bearman.  The fake production, Argo is based on the novel Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny.  Lights go down at 6:00 pm and the film will be followed by a short discussion ending by 8:30 pm.  Popcorn will be served.  For more information, call Robyn Truslow at (410) 535-0291 or (301) 855-1862.
